We appreciate your interest in becoming a volunteer for Murwillumbah CORE Inc. Volunteers play a crucial role in our organisation, which prioritises community-driven recovery efforts.
The recent flooding in the Northern Rivers region in February 2022 was one of the largest natural disasters in Australia's history. In the wake of such an event, communities are confronted with immense difficulties in the process of recovery and rebuilding.
Volunteers' unwavering commitment and endless hard work are crucial in aiding recovery and facilitating healing and restoration for individuals and communities. The exceptional response from the Northern Rivers community remains vital. Our organisation greatly relies on the selfless contributions of these individuals, without whom we would not be able to carry out our important work.
It is the spontaneous influx of volunteers that enables a swift recovery after a natural disaster. Not only are they helping physically, but unknown to them they help rebuild our community’s spirit. We are forever grateful to the volunteers, both local and out of town, who have helped in the past and, no doubt, in the future.

A heartwarming story...
Volunteers, both local and from distant places, eagerly step up in times of crisis to offer their support however they can.
In a touching display of compassion, a lovely couple from Upper Coomera made the journey to Murwillumbah, donning their wellies to help prepare a delicious BBQ lunch for their fellow volunteers. Despite the quick disappearance of the sausages, the abundance of love and unity was felt by all.
